Zepht was a Denobulan geologist for the Denobulan Science Academy, assigned to Xantoras to study the unique speleothems there. He was rescued from the planet by an away team from the Enterprise when the new government ordered all aliens to leave the planet. At first he was unwilling to leave since he had collected many important rock samples. He escaped just in time before the Xantoras army patrols found them. (ENT: "The Breach")
