Captain Young Jae Kim was the commanding officer of the 22nd century Earth starship HMS Lord Nelson. He commanded the vessel during its 2120 deep space exploration mission. (TNG: "Up The Long Ladder")
Young Jae Kim is the namesake of TNG senior illustrator Rick Sternbach's adopted son. His name appeared on the okudagram from Picard's desk monitor. A legible version of the okudagram appeared in the reference book, Star Trek: The Next Generation - The Continuing Mission.
