Yerba Buena Island was an island in the San Francisco Bay. This hilly island was located between Oakland and San Francisco. The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge passed through this island. The island was connected by an isthmus to Treasure Island.

In 1986, the location of this island was depicted on a San Francisco Municipal Railway transit map. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)

In the alternate reality of 2259, Yerba Buena Island was seen on a map of the San Francisco Bay. This map was seen on a powerwall in the office of Admiral Alexander Marcus. (Star Trek Into Darkness)

This island was first seen in the director's edition of Star Trek: The Motion Picture. In the alternate reality, the bridge wasn't on the map, implying that something had happened to the bridge since the 2150s when it was last seen in "Affliction", and that in the 2250s that Yerba Buena Island wasn't connected to the rest of the bay by ground traffic.
