Yamok sauce was a popular Cardassian condiment, among Cardassians.
Aamin Marritza enjoyed yamok sauce with his sem'hal stew. (DS9: "Duet") Tojal in yamok sauce was considered a Cardassian delicacy. (DS9: "Destiny") Yamok sauce was also adapted to serve with Terran food, and was found to be enjoyable served with asparagus. (DS9: "By Inferno's Light") It could also be eaten on sand peas. (DS9: "The Way of the Warrior")
After the Cardassians left Deep Space 9 in 2369, Quark was left with 5000 wrappages of yamok sauce. His nephew, Nog, was able to acquire the sauce, and he, along with Jake Sisko, were able to trade it to a Lissepian captain for 100 gross of self-sealing stem bolts. (DS9: "Progress")
A few years later, Quark, in anticipation of a Dominion takeover of DS9, smuggled in 10,000 wrappages of the sauce, which was promptly dumped by station officials when discovered. (DS9: "Call to Arms") Later, during the Dominion occupation, Quark acquired ten crates of yamok sauce that he wanted Rom to unpack. (DS9: "Behind the Lines")
