Lieutenant Wright was Starfleet officer serving aboard the Enterprise-D under the command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard.

In 2366, he attended an art class aboard the Enterprise, along with Captain Picard and Ensign Williams. Lieutenant Commander Data praised Wright's work, stating the lieutenant had "effectively fused the incongruities of the surrealists with the irrationality of Dadaism." (TNG: "A Matter of Perspective")
