Template:Realworld Wilson Dyer is a sound effects editor who worked on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager. He was also Sound Supervisor for the video game Star Trek: Klingon and Dialogue Editor for the video game Star Trek: Borg.
His work on Star Trek earned him the following Emmy Award nomination and wins for Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series:
- 1988 Emmy Award for the episode "11001001", shared with James Wolvington, Mace Matiosian, Bill Wistrom, Gerry Sackman, and Keith Bilderbeck
- 1989 Emmy Award for the episode "Q Who", shared with Bill Wistrom, Mace Matiosian, James Wolvington, Guy Tsujimoto, and Gerry Sackman
- 1990 Emmy Award for the episode "Yesterday's Enterprise", shared with Bill Wistrom, Mace Matiosian, James Wolvington, Gerry Sackman, and Rick Freeman
- 1991 Emmy Award for the episode "The Best of Both Worlds, Part II", shared with Bill Wistrom, Mace Matiosian, James Wolvington, Masanobu Tomita, Dan Yale, and Gerry Sackman
- 1992 Emmy Award nomination for the episode "Power Play", shared with Bill Wistrom, James Wolvington, Masanobu Tomita, Dan Yale, and Gerry Sackman
Dyer's additional sound editing credits include the television series MacGyver, Amen, and Baywatch. He was also Sound Designer for Walker, Texas Ranger and Sound Supervisor on such shows as Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, J.J. Abrams' Alias, and the UPN series Seven Days, Special Unit 2, and Everybody Hates Chris. The Motion Picture Sound Editors society nominated Dyer for Golden Reel Awards for his work on Seven Days (2001) and Everybody Hates Chris (2006).
Dyer worked with his fellow Star Trek sound crew members on numerous non-Trek film and television projects. Some of their films include 1990's Ski Patrol, 1993's Joshua Tree, the 1994 TV thriller Running Delilah (starring Kim Cattrall), 1997's The Only Thrill, and 1998's Family Plan. Some of Dyer's more recent credits include the 2005 TV movies Mysterious Island (starring Patrick Stewart) and The Poseidon Adventure (starring Peter Weller), for which he was the ADR (automated dialogue replacement) Supervisor.
More recently, Dyer worked as sound supervisor on the crime series NCIS: Los Angeles (2009-2011).
