William Lithgow (born 7 August 1939; age 72) is an actor from Los Angeles, California who played Pran Tainer in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Inheritance". This is his only known role in episodic television.

His only other known acting credits are the 1979 made-for-TV movie The Fantastic Seven, starring Christopher Lloyd, and the 1982 TV movie Drop-Out Father, with Bill Erwin, Bruce Gray, and Monte Markham. However, he did recently film a horror movie called Dead in the Water, in which he plays a fisherman.
