A "warp flare" was a method utilized by the crew of the USS Voyager to illuminate a series of ships in the starless area of space in the Delta Quadrant known as "the Void" in 2375.

The flare was produced by Lieutenant Commander Tuvok, who reconfigured a photon torpedo to emit a sustained polyluminous burst. This allowed him to identify three ships which had utilized a dampening field to disable Voyager. (VOY: "Night")
