The Vulpes velox is a crab native to Earth.
When Spock tried to match the sound of the Whale Probe to the sound of an Earth animal aboard the Klingon Bird-of-Prey HMS Bounty, a Vulpes velox was one of the animals shown. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)
The Vulpes velox is actually a swift fox, although the image shown of the species on the HMS Bounty's display is a crab. It can be assumed that the computer on the HMS Bounty was incorrect.
