Vorin

Vorin aboard the Enterprise-D in 2370.

Vorin was a Boraalan whose duty it was to chronicle the history of his village on Boraal II.

When the entire village was transported aboard one of the USS Enterprise-D's holodecks, which had been programmed to resemble Boraal II, Vorin and the others were unaware of change. The villagers were being transported to Vacca VI, as Boraal II was suffering from atmospheric dissipation. However, the villagers had to be kept from the truth in order to avoid cultural contamination.

Unfortunately, when he was separated from the others, he accidentally left the holodeck and discovered that he was actually aboard a starship. Vorin was given the option of remaining with the Enterprise crew or returning to the other villagers but never telling them what he'd seen. Unable to cope with this decision, he performed ritual suicide. Nikolai Rozhenko, who remained with the Boraalans in disguise, later took over as the new village chronicler. (TNG: "Homeward")

Vorin was played by Brian Markinson.
