Template:Realworld Vonda Neel McIntyre (born 28 August 1948; age 75) is the author of several Star Trek novels and novelizations. These include The Entropy Effect, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.
McIntyre has also written many non-Star Trek science fiction novels and has won Nebula Awards and a Hugo Award. It was McIntyre who came up with Sulu's first name, "Hikaru" in The Entropy Effect, which was made canon by Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country ten years after the release of the novel.
