The Volan system is a star system located on the Cardassian side of the Demilitarized Zone. It contains the Federation Volan colonies, which were handed over to the Cardassians in the Federation-Cardassian Treaty of 2370. (DS9: "The Maquis, Part I", "Tribunal")
