Volan II was the second planet in the Volan planetary system. This planet was located on the Cardassian side of the Demilitarized Zone, and was the site of a Federation colony. William Samuels, the Federation colonist who confessed to the 2370 bombing of the Bok'Nor (possibly under duress) while in Cardassian captivity, lived as a farmer on Volan II for nearly twenty years. According to the Star Trek: Star Charts, on page 47, the Volan system was located in the Alpha Quadrant. Primary of this star was a Class M star. It had a magnitude of +7, which was 1/10 as bright as Sol.
