Captain Viterian was a late 24th century Kobheerian male, who served as the commanding officer of the Kobheerian freighter Rak-Miunis. (DS9: "Duet", "Second Skin")
- Captain Viterian was played by actor Norman Large; not 'Lesley Kahn' as the Star Trek Encyclopedia suggests. Large was not credited for his appearance in "Second Skin".
- Initially identified in "Duet" as a 'Kobheerian Captain', stock footage of the Viterian would later be reused (with an Avery Brooks voiceover) for "Second Skin", where Benjamin Sisko used the holo-filter to appear as a Kobheerian whom was identified as Captain Viterian. Since Sisko was attempting to illegally traverse Cardassian space, and because he used a legitimate Kobheerian freighter name to ensure his success, it is equally likely that his use of the name Viterian was equally legitimate.
