Virginia Darcy was a veteran Hollywood hair stylist who worked on the first season of Star Trek: The Original Series.

Darcy worked in film and television for three decades during her long and distinguished career, and was nominated for an Emmy Award for her work on the series North and South (which featured Jonathan Frakes, Kirstie Alley and John Anderson) in 1985. She began her career as the hair stylist on Alfred Hitchcock's 1956 film, The Man Who Knew Too Much (with Reggie Nalder and Walter Gotell), and continued to work for Hitchcock on The Birds (1963, with Bill Quinn), Marnie (1964, with Mariette Hartley and Meg Wyllie), and the television series The Alfred Hitchcock Hour. Besides this, she worked on films such as Cape Fear (1962, with Paul Comi), Dark Intruder (1965, with Peter Mark Richman, Peter Brocco, Bill Quinn and directed by Harvey Hart), and Funny Girl (1968, with John Harmon).

On television, Darcy served as head hair stylist on many series, such as The Virginian, Kung Fu, The Dukes of Hazzard and Fantasy Island (starring Ricardo Montalban).

Darcy was Grace Lee Whitney's best friend on the set of Star Trek. The two often shared stories and jokes, sometimes laughing so loudly, the assistant director had to ask them not to spoil a take on the set. (The Longest Trek: My Tour of the Galaxy, p. 105)
