Vernal Galaxy was a region of space. Its third quadrant was the location of Talos IV. (TOS: "The Menagerie, Part I")
It is unclear what Vernal Galaxy was, and how it related to the Milky Way Galaxy. In "The Cage", Captain Chris Pike stated that he was "from a stellar group at the other end of this galaxy.", suggesting Talos and Sol were in the same galaxy.
