Vaytan was the primary of its planetary system. It was noteworthy for its superdense and extremely unstable corona.

The star was studied by Vulcan scientist Doctor T'Pan, and was also the test site for Dr. Reyga's metaphasic shielding in 2369. (TNG: "Suspicions")

A planet in this system, Vaytan I, appeared in the star chart Data and Picard were studying in stellar cartography in 2371. (Star Trek Generations, display graphic)
