Jippeq, a Varro male. (2375)

The Varro are a xenophobic humanoid species encountered by the USS Voyager while it was in the Delta Quadrant.

Overview

In the 1970s, the Varro launched an ship of exploration. As years went by, the ship became generational, and expanded. Originally one segment, they built more and more, till the ship was much larger.

Physiologically, Varro are generally human looking in appearance, except for a series of spots along their spine.

Varro traditionally mate for life. When two Varro have intimate relations, they experience olan'vora - "the shared heart". This makes their body chemistry literally wish to be around each other. Two Varro rarely separate.

In 2375, the Varro generational ship experienced heavy problems with their warp engines. Luckily, they came across the USS Voyager, who gladly offered assistance. After 2 weeks, Voyager's team discovered the problem, artificial silicon-based parasites that were eating away at the hulls of both ships. (VOY: "The Disease")

People

The unnamed Varro stowaway was played by Christopher Liam Moore.
