The Vaadwaur homeworld was the home planet of the Vaadwaur species. The exact name of the planet is unknown. The planet was once the center of a large Vaadwaur empire, but it became uninhabitable sometime in the 16th century, when a massive bombardment with plasma weapons by an alliance of Vaadwaur enemies caused a nuclear winter. As of the late 24th century, the planet had still not yet recovered, with large amounts of radiogenic particles in the air.
Though it seemed the Vaadwaur species virtually became extinct during this event, a battalion of 600 Vaadwaur in stasis survived in a bunker under one of the large metropolises, and was discovered by the crew of the USS Voyager while it hid there in 2376. VOY: "Drabon's Teeth"
- The 16th century date is derived from it being 900 years before Voyager arrived in 2376. Though the crew of Voyager described the state of the planet as in nuclear winter (which is usually temporary), the fact that the planet was still uninhabitable after 900 years suggests a permanent alteration of the planet's climate.
