Hi there!

My real name is Liam and I live in England and have been a fan of Star Trek for many years, since I was about 8/9 years old. Interestingly, the episode TNG: "The Defector" aired on the day I was born (1st January, 1990). The first episode I remember watching in its first airing was VOY: "In the Flesh" which I remember staying up 'late' to watch on Sky One. It was 8pm. I was young.

Aside from Star Trek, I also like Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Battlestar Galactica, Family Guy, Red Dwarf, Scrubs, Alias and Andromeda,though not necessarily in that order. I would have to say that all the Stargates and Battlestar Galactica are my favourite Sci-Fi shows to air recently.

I also own an Xbox 360 and enjoy playing online through Xbox Live. I usually play first person shooters (FPS) but I also like real time strategies (RTS) and role-playing games (RPGs). I own quite a few games, including Rainbow Six: Vegas, Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, Mass Effect, Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, Call of Duty 3, Call of Duty 4, Assassin's Creed, Grand Theft Auto 4, Splinter Cell: Double Agent and of course, Star Trek: Legacy. I also have a fair number of original Xbox games, mostly from the Tom Clancy series', Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six 3 and Ghost Recon.

User HistoryEdit

I began editing on Memory Alpha as an anon on 7th June 2006 and straight away I became addicted to it.

After creating this account in December 2007, I began to make minor edits here and there, usually when I had seen an episode and wanted to add something to an article about an object/planet/person etc. This continued for a little while as I got used to the Memory Alpha policies and way of doing things though I eventually got into voting in featured article nominations and posting my views in community discussions.

I started making larger edits to Memory Alpha from 2008, including adding narrative to episode summaries and contributing to people articles. I created my first full article, Operation Fort Knox, on 24th June 2008 which I enjoyed doing very much, and after writing the entire summary for "Evolution" in December 2008, I nominated that for featured status. It passed and became my first ever featured article!

I continued to contribute to articles more and more over the next year or so, but my edit count declined in 2010 due to some personal issues in my life. Towards the end of that year, I came back to the community and began making bigger and better edits. In 2011, I decided to focus on Deep Space Nine episode summaries, beginning with the summaries for "Visionary" and "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges", and working on expanding stub/short articles.

At the moment, you will usually find me working on Deep Space Nine episode summaries, and, thanks to my newly acquired Star Trek reference books, the expansion of background information and apocrypha.

My pet hates include:

  • Poorly worded sentences
  • Poor placement of images (i.e. squashing the text or moving headings over)
  • Uncited comments
  • Incorrect tense
  • People who are rude/insensitive/sarcastic to others without reason

I try to:

  • Greet users in a polite and respectful manner
  • Help out anyone who needs it
  • Correct any errors I come across
  • Get involved in community discussions
  • Work to increase participation in community discussions
