A redshirtEdit

Compton beamed down to Scalos wearing a red shirt, with some others wearing differently colored shirts. He was hyperaccelerated by the Scalosians, and spent what must have been days or weeks their prisoner.

Compton eventually found it necessary to work with the Scalosians, standing up to his former captain.

Captain James Kirk was not used to such behavior from a mere crewman. Kirk beat Compton severely, killing him. (TOS: "Wink of an Eye")
