Command division

Command division bridge crew

These command division officers served on the bridge of the Enterprise in 2258 when the ship was part of the armada against the Romulan mining vessel Narada. (Star Trek)

An alien officer

This alien Starfleet officer served as a communications officer aboard the Enterprise. When Kirk searched the ship for Uhura he found her in a large control room filled with dozens of officers. This alien officer was sitting next to Uhura and operating a console. (Star Trek)

This alien officer was portrayed by Tania Gunadi, who received no credit for this part.
Her character was dubbed "Butterfish" by the production team and make-up artists.
She also appeared briefly in a scene in front of the Starfleet Academy when the rigging drill of the Narada was sent to destroy Earth. At this time this alien officer was also serving aboard the Enterprise.

This alien crewman was played by an unknown actor.


Bridge security officers

The first two security officers were ordered to remove Kirk from the bridge of the Enterprise after Kirk doubted Spock's commands. Both officers were knocked down by Kirk shortly before Kirk got unconscious by Spock's Vulcan nerve pinch.

The third security officer was one of two who brought Scotty and Kirk to the bridge after they've beamed into the machine room. (Star Trek)

The first two security officers were played by stunt performers and the third by a background actor.

This Human was called "Cupcake" by James T. Kirk when the two first met in the Shipyard Bar in Riverside, Iowa in 2255. Being a Starfleet cadet, "Cupcake" tried to protect Nyota Uhura who was picked up by Kirk. The following dispute ended in a barfight and Kirk facing three cadets as his opponents. The dispute was settled by Captain Pike.

Three years later "Cupcake" served as security officer aboard the Enterprise and was part of the security team which was sent down to engineering to arrest the intruders, namely James T. Kirk and Montgomery Scott who beamed aboard. He arrested the two and brought them onto the bridge where he witnessed the discussion and fight between Spock and Kirk. (Star Trek)

"Cupcake" was played by actor Jason Matthew Smith and credited as "Burly Cadet #1" in the end credits of the movie.
Brian Oerly served as stunt double for him during the bar fight.
Issue #8 of the ongoing comic book series from IDW Publishing, "Vulcan's Vengeance, Part 2", revealed that Cupcake is the alternate reality-counterpart of Hendorff. Despite Hendorff's repeated reminders to Kirk of his name, Kirk continued to call him "Cupcake." He is the narrator of issue #13, "The Redshirt's Tale", which established his first name initials as "G. P."


Engineering crewmembers

These engineering crewmembers served aboard the Enterprise during the mission to Vulcan and the battle against the Narada. Most of them served in the main engine room and some of them watched the ship intern message of Chekov regarding their mission. (Star Trek)

Engineering security officer

This security officer was part of the security team which caught Kirk and Scotty in engineering shortly after they beamed back aboard. (Star Trek)

This security officer was played by Calvin Dean, who received no credit for this appearance.
According to Dean's IMDb resume, this security officer was named Daniels.

Jonathan Dixon's character previously appeared as the tactical officer during James T. Kirk's Kobayashi Maru scenario simulation.


Torpedo bay crewmembers

These crewmembers were working in the torpedo bay when the Enterprise faced Nero and his ship, the Narada. At order they've launched several torpedoes. (Star Trek)

All crewmembers wre played by background performers.
The alien character portrayed by Jeff Chase was dubbed "Dexter" during the production by the crew to distinguish him from the other alien characters. He also appeared as a Starfleet cadet prior to his assignment on board the Enterprise.

This transporter chief was on duty when the Enterprise went to Vulcan and Kirk, Sulu, and Olson performed a space-dive ionto the Romulan drilling rig. She tried to beam Kirk and Sulu back aboard the ship but was unable to lock onto them. Chekov replaced her and beamed the two officers aboard. (Star Trek)

The transporter chief was portrayed by Marlene Forte.


Transporter technician

A transporter technician

This transporter technician assisted the female transporter chief in the transporter room. He was present when Chekov took over and beamed Spock and several Vulcans aboard the Enterprise and when Scotty beamed Spock and Kirk aboard the Narada. He was still in the transporter room when Scotty beamed Kirk, Spock, and Captain Pike back aboard the Enterprise and seemed amused by Scotty's reaction to his work. (Star Trek)

This transporter technician was played by Christopher Doohan, son of original Montgomery Scott actor James Doohan. He wears the sleeve stripes of a lieutenant commander, the same rank held by his father's character during the run of TOS. As a background performer he received no credit for this part.
Chris Doohan stated on his Twitter account that this character is Lt. Kyle.
Star Trek Magazine, issue 159 (p. 94), calls the character "Ensign Doohan."

According to Morris and Kay, their respective characters' names are Ensign Victoria Slater and Lieutenant Adams.


Alien science division bridge officer

This alien Starfleet officer was a Starfleet cadet at James T. Kirk's disciplinary hearing at the Starfleet Academy in 2258. After she was transferred to the Enterprise she served as a science officer on the bridge. (Star Trek)

This alien officer was played by actress Kimberly Arland.
She was named "Madeline" by the production team and make-up artist to distinguish her from the other alien individuals. The name "Madeline" also appears on behind-the-scenes material depicting a computer rendering of the character's prosthetic makeup.
The character design, which was inspired by an image of facial ornamentetion seen by J.J. Abrams, was done by Neville Page. His concept for the design was tribal scarification. (Star Trek - The Art of the Film, p. 73)

Diora Baird

In a deleted scene aboard the Enterprise Kirk apologized to a female Orion science officer believing her to be Gaila. During his speech he realized that this Orion was not Gaila. This Orion officer was portrayed by actress Diora Baird.
