List of unnamed Federation starships of the Oberth class.

23rd century

USS Copernicus

An Oberth class starship in Earth's Spacedock.

In 2386, this unnamed Oberth-class science ship docked at Spacedock, in orbit above Earth. Travel pod 05 passed this ship on its course to the USS Enterprise-A.

According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia, this ship is the USS Copernicus NCC-623. There is no canonical evidence for either the name or the registry. In fact, in the next appearance of the Oberth class model in (TNG: "The Naked Now"), the registry on the model is NCC-638. NCC-638 is the registry of the USS Grissom.

24th century

Unnamed Oberth moments before being destroyed by the Borg

This unnamed Oberth-class starship was in service during the latter half of the 24th century. It was destroyed by the Borg in the Battle of Wolf 359 in 2367, along with 38 other starships. It was seen exploding outside of Benjamin Sisko's quarters on board the USS Saratoga (DS9: "Emissary")

According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia this vessel was identified as the USS Bonestell and had a registry of NCC-31600, however no on screen evidence appears to support the claim.

Satie's transport

Satie's transport

In 2367, this unnamed Oberth-class starship served as a transport for retired Admiral Norah Satie during her visit to the USS Enterprise-D in order to investigate a case of possible Romulan espionage. (TNG: "The Drumhead")

According to the script, this vessel was referred to simply as a "smaller ship" and a "Federation craft." According to the Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion, this vessel was the USS Cochrane.

Crusher's transport

Crusher's transport

In 2368, this unnamed Oberth-class starship served as a transport for Cadet Wesley Crusher during his visit to the Enterprise-D while he was on vacation from Starfleet Academy. (TNG: "The Game")

Dialog referred to this vessel as "a shuttle", but the script makes no reference to to vessel, whose footage was reused from "The Drumhead," referenced above.

Dax and Bashir's transport

Transport to Deep Space 9

In 2369, this unnamed Oberth-class starship transported a group of Starfleet officers, including Julian Bashir and Jadzia Dax, to the newly-established Federation outpost on Deep Space 9. (DS9: "Emissary")

According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia, this vessel was the USS Cochrane.

Evacuation of Veridian III

Miranda oberth nebula

The USS Farragut, leads an unnamed Oberth and Miranda class starship from Veridian III.

In 2371, an unnamed Oberth class starship assisted the USS Farragut and an unnamed Miranda-class starship in recovering the crew of USS Enterprise-D from Veridian III, following the forced crash-landing of its saucer section. (Star Trek Generations)

A photo documents of an Oberth-class model at ILM taken around the filming of Star Trek Generations was labeled with the name Valiant. However, it is not certain whether this Oberth-class seen in that movie was in fact the same ship as the Valiant.

Battle of Sector 001

Oberth class, first contact

Two Oberth-class vessel near Earth.

At least two unnamed Oberth-class starships were fought against the Borg in the Battle of Sector 001 in 2373.

Both vessels were on the far side of the attacking Borg cube when the cube was first engaged by the USS Enterprise-E. (Star Trek: First Contact)

This would mark the final appearance of the Oberth-class in the Star Trek series.
