The USS Ticonderoga (NCC-32270) was a 24th century Federation starship operated by Starfleet. In 2364, the ship's commander was Captain Itzak Arrat.

In that year, this starship received an order from Commodore Toki of Starfleet Advanced Technologies Division. According to this order, the Ticonderoga was to await instructions on the proper means of transmitting information on the testing of the Mark 25 warp sensor to this division. The starship was instructed to take all steps necessary to prevent the Ferengi agents, who were operating in the same sector, from learning about the Mark 25 Warp Sensor and its capabilities. This sensor had strategic value, and the mission the Ticonderoga was assigned was classified as most secret.

Later that year, this order was read by Lieutenant Commander Data during an investigation into an alleged conspiracy in the highest levels of Starfleet Command. (TNG: "Conspiracy" okudagram)

Background information[]

This starship was only mentioned in writing.

A ship with this name was to have been mentioned in the movie Star Trek: Insurrection. In a deleted scene, Quark was picked up at Deep Space 9 by the Ticonderoga for the Ba'ku planet, where the Ferengi spent his vacation.

According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 2, p. 397), this ship was named for the capture of Fort Ticonderoga on May 10, 1775 by Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys.

Longtime Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Property Master Joe Longo served aboard the real life USS Ticonderoga between 1962 and 1964. [1]
