- Played by Star Trek veteran John Noah Hertzler. The Michael Jan Friedman novel Saratoga gives the name of the Vulcan captain as Saros, although the novelization of "Emissary" names him Storil.

A Bolian lieutenant, he was one of only two bridge officers to survive the battle. He was later forced to physically drag Benjamin Sisko away from the body of his wife to safety. (DS9: "Emissary")
- Played by Stephen Davies. The Friedman novel gives the name of this officer as Zar, although the novelization of "Emissary" names him Hranok.
