Excelsior port of Galaxy

The USS Repulse rendevousing with the USS Enterprise-D.

The USS Repulse (NCC-2544) is an Excelsior-class Federation starship, commanded by Captain Taggert in the 24th century. Medical officer Katherine Pulaski served aboard this vessel before she was transported by shuttlecraft D'Alison (Repulse shuttlecraft 10) to her new assignment, the Enterprise-D in 2365. (TNG: "The Child")

Captain Taggert valued Pulaski as an officer, despite her idiosyncratic preference to shuttles instead of matter-energy transportation. Taggert told Captain Picard that there were no recent records of her using a transporter, since over a year previous. (TNG: "Unnatural Selection")

In status displays received by the Enterprise around 2367, the Repulse was continuing her exploration of Sector 22036. (TNG: Starship Mission Status chart)

In casualty lists received by Deep Space 9 around 2375, the Repulse filed reports of many officers being missing, wounded or killed as part of an operation with the Ninth Fleet. (The casualty reports for some of the officers were double filed by other starships, so it must have been a joint operation). (DS9: "In the Pale Moonlight" casualty readout)

Background

The Repulse was a reuse of the Excelsior model first built for Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. The Repulse was listed on the mission status chart seen on screens from season 4 of The Next Generation on. The casualty report seen on DS9 contains many double names of personnel being killed or wounded on multiple ships. It seems more likely that each officer died only once and that the reports were filed multiple times. In this case it is unclear which officers listed under Repulse actually served on this vessel.
