The USS Puget Sound (NCC-85343) was a Federation starship that was in service with Starfleet in the mid-24th century. In 2364, Cari L. Thomas was captain of the ship.

That same year, this starship was surveying Sector 450. The captain received a mission order from a Starfleet admiral at the Starfleet Mission Operations Division.

In this order, the captain was advised to avoid a range of subsectors and to refrain from using high energy sensor scans in another subsector. That order had been supported by Admiral Marcia Meldal-Johnsan and dealt with diplomatic negotiations with the New Zealand government. The captain was to acknowledge this order on subspace com net security code 045, code 100 alpha.

In late 2364, Data read this order and several others to investigate claims of a conspiracy among the highest members of Starfleet Command. (TNG: "Conspiracy", okudagram)

The Puget Sound had the same registry as the USS Elmer Fudd and the USS Mustang.
