The USS Portland was a 24th century Federation starship operated by Starfleet.
In 2371, the Portland and a Cardassian cruiser were assigned to search the Algira sector for a missing runabout from Deep Space 9. (DS9: "The Die is Cast")
The Star Trek Encyclopedia states that this vessel was a Chimera-class starship, with a registry of NCC-57418. (citation needed • edit)
The Portland was probably named after the North American cities of Portland, Maine, and/or Oregon.
