According to the script of TNG: "Too Short a Season", [1] the USS Pegasus was the second ship on which Captain Mark Jameson was the commanding officer. This ship was described as being old. By 2364, this ship was renowned for its participation in the Klingon conflicts. The scene in which the Pegasus was mentioned did not make it to the final episode.
