The USS Mustang (NCC-85343) was a Federation starship that was in service with Starfleet in the mid-24th century. In 2364, this starship was commanded by Jimmy Arakaki.
In 2364, this ship received orders from Admiral Sandy Fries at the Starfleet Mission Operations Unit concerning the Gamma Argus system. The ship was to proceed to the Gamma Argus system and conduct a survey of Gamma Argus II. The parameters of this mission included a cultural evolution study and, at the discretion of the captain, an initial first contact. Under the terms of this first contact scenario, Captain Arakaki would be acting as an agent of the United Federation of Planets.
At the end of that year, Data read these orders and several others to investigate claims of a conspiracy among the highest members of Starfleet Command. (TNG: "Conspiracy")
