The USS Max Plank (NCC-28573) was a 24th century Federation starship operated by Starfleet. In 2364, this starship was commanded by Asenath Hammond.

In that year, this ship, along with the USS Tranquillity Base, patrolled the Romulan Neutral Zone. While on patrol, these ships received an order from Commodore Joshua Jae of Starfleet Mission Operations Division. According to that order, both ships were to modify their defensive coverage of the zone by increasing sensor drone surveillance in the sectors 045 to 052 while decreasing it in sectors 004 to 010. In these latter sectors, active patrol duty required approval by the Commodore’s office. Later that year, this order was read by Lieutenant Commander Data during an investigation into an alleged conspiracy in the highest levels of Starfleet Command. (TNG: "Conspiracy", okudagram)

The ship's namesake was Max Planck.
