The USS John F. Kennedy was a Federation starship that was in service with Starfleet in the mid-24th century.
In 2364, the ship's captain received several orders from an admiral at Starfleet operational support services that had to do with patrol duties. The orders were illustrated with several star charts.
At the end of that year, Data read these orders and several others to investigate claims of a conspiracy among the highest members of Starfleet Command. (TNG: "Conspiracy")
The Starfleet communique was only glimpsed for several frames on a viewscreen. The ship was named after the former US President John F. Kennedy, as was the aircraft carrier (CV-67) of the same name. Along with the USS Thomas Paine, USS Niels Bohr and USS John Muir, it is one of only four known Starfleet vessels which uses the full name of its namesake.
