The USS Intrepid (NCC-38907) was a Federation Excelsior-class starship that was in service with Starfleet in the mid-24th century. In 2346, the Intrepid was under the command of Captain Drew Deighan.

In that year, on stardate 23859.7, the Intrepid was the first ship to respond to a Klingon distress call from Khitomer when the outpost was attacked by Romulan patrol ships. The chief medical officer on board the ship during the Khitomer rescue operation was Moran. (TNG: "Sins of the Father", "Redemption")

Chief Petty Officer Sergey Rozhenko, a warp field specialist aboard the Intrepid, adopted a young Klingon child named Worf who had been orphaned by the Romulan attack. (TNG: "Family")
