The USS Firebrand (NCC-68723) was a Federation Freedom-class starship that was in service with Starfleet in the mid-24th century.
In 2367, with 38 other starships, this vessel was in the Federation fleet at the Battle of Wolf 359. The Firebrand was lost in the conflict. (TNG: "The Best of Both Worlds, Part II")
The studio model of the Firebrand was created for use in its appearance in "The Best of Both Worlds, Part II". The ship's class was designated by the production staff, along with the ship's registry (found on the primary hull), which was later revealed by Mike Okuda in the Star Trek Encyclopedia.
