Deltan bridge officer (2285)

This Deltan officer served on the bridge of the Excelsior during the ship's early warp trial periods. She was on the bridge at the time the Excelsior was ordered to prevent the Enterprise from being stolen from Spacedock. (Star Trek III: The Search for Spock)

Engineer

This engineer was working in engineering during the Excelsior's collision with the shockwave in 2293. He contacted the bridge and asked what was going on up there. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country)

The scene in which the engineer appears is from the script of the movie only and was removed from the final film. However, the role's inclusion in the movie's end credits, listed as "Excelsior Engineer", seems to suggest that the scene was filmed. The credits sequence also establishes that the role was played by Michael Bofshever.

First Officer

First officer (2285)

The First Officer was a Starfleet commander serving as number one to Captain Styles. He sat at the helm in 2285 when the ship's propulsion systems were sabotaged by Scotty when Excelsior attempted to pursue Enterprise out of Spacedock. (Star Trek III: The Search for Spock)

Played by Miguel Ferrer. The Star Trek Customizable Card Game gives his name as Henreid.

Helmsman (male)

The male helmsman was a Starfleet officer who served at the helm of Excelsior, when the starship made its foray into the Azure Nebula. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country; VOY: "Flashback")

The Helmsman was played by Angelo Tiffe in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, and by an unknown background actor in VOY: "Flashback".

Night-shift communications officer (2293)

The Communications officer was a Starfleet junior lieutenant who served in the communications department of Excelsior in 2293, during Captain Sulu's off hours.

In that year, he woke the captain to inform him of a communiqué from Starfleet Command requesting the whereabouts of starship USS Enterprise-A immediately prior to the Khitomer Conference. Captain Sulu ordered this officer to reply in the negative about Excelsior being in contact with Enterprise-A. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country)

Christian Slater played this night-duty officer as a cameo role. The character was not named in script or dialog. His lines were originally intended to be said by the main Excelsior Communications Officer, Janice Rand. Slater was simply credited as "Excelsior Communications Officer" in the closing credits.
