The USS Copernicus (NCC-58637) was a Federation starship that was in service with Starfleet in the mid-24th century.

In 2364, while on patrol in a sector, this ship sent a request for fuel allotment. On stardate 41417.3, Vice Admiral Maxwell Headroom of Starfleet Mission Operations Division sent a reply in which he denied the request. The admiral advised the starship to maximize its resources for greater operational efficiency. The captain was to acknowledge this order on subspace com net security code 045, code 100 alpha.

At the end of that year, Data read this order and several others to investigate claims of a conspiracy among the highest members of Starfleet Command. (TNG: "Conspiracy", okudagram)

According to the novels The Best and the Brightest and Pathways, the Copernicus was also an Oberth-class vessel.
