The USS Bradbury (NX-72307) was a 24th century Federation Bradbury-class starship operated by Starfleet. She was the prototype of her class, identified as a transport ship.

In 2366, the Bradbury was in orbit of Betazed. It was arranged for acting ensign Wesley Crusher of the starship USS Enterprise-D to be transported by the Bradbury to Starfleet Academy on Earth, where Wesley would begin his classes. Because of an emergency aboard the Enterprise, the Bradbury departed Betazed without Wesley. (TNG: "Ménage à Troi")

In 2367, the Bradbury was undergoing warp drive performance tests. The ship was named on the chart "Starfleet Operations-Sectors 21166-23079" on the Enterprise-D bridge. (TNG: "Brothers" okudagram)

In 2369, the Bradbury was again undergoing warp drive performance tests. The ship was named on the chart "Starfleet Operations-Sectors 21538-23079" in the Enterprise-D observation lounge. (TNG: "Chain Of Command, Part I", okudagram)

The class and registry were derived from the chart in "Brothers".
According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 1, p. 100), the Bradbury was "named for s-f/fantasy writer, Ray Bradbury, a friend of the late Gene Roddenberry." In a commentary note, Michael Okuda suspected that the ship was the prototype vessel of the Bradbury-class.
