The USS Appalachia (NCC-52136) was a Federation Steamrunner-class starship that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century.
In 2373, the Appalachia defended Earth against the second Borg invasion at the Battle of Sector 001. (Star Trek: First Contact)
The CGI rendering of this ship appeared in Star Trek: The Next Generation Sketchbook: The Movies. According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia, it was a Steamrunner-class ship.
The ship was named after the Appalachian Mountains in eastern North America.
