Tyree was a humanoid native of Neural, living with the Hill People.
In 2254, when James T. Kirk was on a survey mission to the planet, Kirk and Tyree became good friends. When Kirk returned to the planet in 2268, aboard the USS Enterprise, Tyree had risen to become leader of the Hill People, and was married to a woman named Nona. His life and career was ended when the Klingons began supplying weapons to his enemies. (TOS: "A Private Little War")
