The Typhon sector was an area of space within Federation borders.

In 2373, Admiral Hayes mobilized Starfleet in this area to confront a Borg cube which was en route to Earth. The fleet failed to stop the cube, however, and continued the battle all the way to Sector 001. (Star Trek: First Contact)
