He became bitter rivals with fellow Ferengi, Hoex, after his controlling interests in the cargo ports on Volchok Prime were bought out by Hoex.

Turot was invited to a very important conference with Grand Nagus Zek held aboard Deep Space 9 in 2369. Krax, who helped coordinate the conference, told Quark, the conference's host, not to seat Turot next to Hoex due to their bitter rivalry. (DS9: "The Nagus")
