Triticale was a cereal crop hybrid of wheat and rye that was developed in Canada on Earth during the 20th century. Triticale would later become the parent strain of genetically engineered quadro- and quintotriticale. (TOS: "The Trouble with Tribbles"; TAS: "More Tribbles, More Troubles")
