The Trialan sun was the primary of the Trialus planetary system. This system was located in the Gamma Quadrant.

While in orbit of the planet Meridian, the USS Defiant launched a probe into the sun's corona. Probe telemetry revealed that the fusion reactants in the sun's core were out of balance, creating a cascade reaction which caused Meridian to shift between dimensions. (DS9: "Meridian")
