Torres was a lieutenant who served aboard the USS Enterprise-D during its first year of service under Captain Jean-Luc Picard.
Torres was assigned as the flight controller on the Enterprise in early 2364, when Q first visited the ship. When Torres attempted to draw his hand phaser after Q's intrusion, he was frozen by the entity. He was eventually thawed and recovered. (TNG: "Encounter at Farpoint")
Torres was portrayed by stunt actor Jimmy Ortega. In the shooting script, the character's name was Graham.
