Gul Toran was an officer in the Sixth Order, who commanded Outpost 61 in the Almatha sector.
Toran reported being attacked by the USS Defiant after it had been stolen by the Maquis in 2371. However, the attack was a diversion created by a ship projecting a false warp signature, so that the real Defiant could attack Outpost 47 and slip into Cardassian territory. (DS9: "Defiant")
