Tombstone was an American frontier town located in the Arizona region of North America on Earth.

It was infamous for the shootout that occurred at the OK Corral there on October 26th, 1881. During that time, the local newspaper was the Tombstone Epitaph.

In 2268, the Melkots recreated a faux Tombstone for the crew of the USS Enterprise as their means of executing them for violating a warning to stay away from their homeworld. (TOS: "Spectre of the Gun")
