Tim Gaskill is a journalist, editor and producer.
A graduate of California State University, Fresno, Gaskill moved to London in the late 1980s, and began working at CIC Video in 1988 as a production co-ordinator, where, amongst other responsibilities, he wrote and edited promotional copy and sleeve notes for Star Trek VHS releases in the UK.
Gaskill was editor and manager of Star Trek: The Official Fan Club of the UK and its associated magazine from its inception in 1993 until its takeover by Titan Entertainment Group in 1997, contributing articles in addition to his editorial duties. At the same time, he worked on a freelance basis for other Star Trek and entertainment-based magazines (including Star Trek Monthly), as well as being principally responsible for the writing, producing and editing of the Trivial Pursuit - Star Trek Edition VCR Game. Gaskill also acted as an editor on the Star Trek Fact Files.
In January 2000, he transferred to Paramount Digital Entertainment, becoming editorial director for StarTrek.com. Gaskill participated in and helped moderate the StarTrek.com episode podcasts, some of which were made into audio commentaries on the Enterprise DVD sets. With the reorganization of the franchise following the takeover by CBS, Gaskill became Senior Content Producer at the site. In December 2007, however, he and the rest of the site's production team were laid off by CBS Interactive, the result of restructuring at the company.
Gaskill currently resides in the Greater Los Angeles area.
