(written from a Production point of view)

These Are the Voyages: TOS Season Two is a reference book published by Jacobs Brown Press as a follow-on to These Are the Voyages: TOS Season One that provides an extensive episode guide to the second season of Star Trek: The Original Series.

Written by Marc Cushman and Susan Osborn, the book was first published on 24 March 2014 and provided background and production information from "Catspaw" through "Assignment: Earth". The book, illustrated throughout with black and white photographs, has a foreword by Walter Koenig.

A mostly full color pictorial companion tome was released in September 2016 as To Boldly Go: Rare Photos from the TOS Soundstage - Season Two by Gerald Gurian's (the series' Archivist/Photo Editor) own publishing house, Minkatek Press.

Summary[]

From the book jacket
In the 1980s Gene Roddenberry and Robert H. Justman gave Marc Cushman permission to write the definitive history of the first Star Trek®. They backed their stamp of approval by providing documentation never before shared with the public. These Are the Voyages, published in three volumes – one designated for each season of TOS (The Original Series) – will take you back in time and put you into the producers' offices, the writers' room, onto the soundstages, and in front of your TV sets for the first historic broadcasts. Included are hundreds of memos between Roddenberry and his staff, production schedules, budgets, fan letters, behind-the-scenes images, and the TV ratings. Buckle your seat belts; the trek of a lifetime continues with Season Two.
