A thermal pulse ignition charge or thermal pulse ignition device was a type of technological device. This charge was used with Evora oxide for precision-charged patterns of destruction for demolition work. At higher power settings, this charge was used for activating sternbachium for chemical laser ignition applications and gamma pulse generation. (TNG: "Night Terrors")
Thermal pulse is a term used in nucleonics which is defined as "the radiant power versus time pulse from a nuclear weapon detonation." [1]
This device was mentioned in the graphics created for the remastered episode.
