The Valley of Fear is a novel by Arthur Conan Doyle. It is the last novel to feature Sherlock Holmes and John H. Watson. In the novel, Holmes uses a copy of Whitaker's Almanack to solve a secret code. (TNG: "Elementary, Dear Data")
